Beschreibung
Improve your English while exploring fascinating topics from art, culture, politics, science and technology. Consolidate your B2 skills and progressively develop the vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and communicative competence needed for C1-level communication. Lesson contents In this course, you will develop your English through a broad range of media, including articles, literary and non-fiction texts, videos, artworks, games and conversations. Each session is structured as a focused workshop around a specific topic and language-learning area, such as vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation or communication. New vocabulary, idiomatic expressions and grammatical structures are introduced and explained in context. Previously learned language is reviewed and consolidated before new material is introduced. The newly acquired knowledge is then transferred to discussions, interactive exercises and other speaking activities. This process enables participants to develop both their language knowledge and their ability to apply it independently in different communicative situations. Who is this course for? The course is aimed at learners with B2-level English who want to consolidate their existing skills and gradually progress towards C1. It is suitable for participants who have completed the relevant B2 learning content or have comparable knowledge. The course progressively develops linguistic range, accuracy, fluency and communicative independence. Lesson aims •Understand and discuss a range of authentic spoken and written materials; •Acquire and actively use new topic-specific vocabulary and idiomatic expressions; •Consolidate grammatical knowledge and apply new structures with increasing accuracy; •express opinions, ideas and arguments with greater clarity, precision and nuance; •participate actively and confidently in extended conversations and discussions; •recognise and use different forms of expression and register appropriately; •transfer newly acquired vocabulary and grammatical structures to unfamiliar topics and situations; •progressively develop the linguistic range and independence required for C1-level communication. Methods The course follows a communicative, task-based and learner-oriented approach. New language is introduced in meaningful contexts and explained before being consolidated through targeted exercises. Participants then apply the language in guided and increasingly independent communicative tasks. Methods include guided discussions, pair and group activities, speaking exercises, vocabulary and grammar tasks, pronunciation practice, work with authentic texts and audiovisual materials, games and other interactive activities. Frequent speaking activities enable participants to transfer newly acquired knowledge directly into communication. Regulär feedback and correction help identify errors, consolidate new structures and progressively improve linguistic accuracy, fluency and confidence. No fixed coursebook. All course materials are provided during the sessions and selected according to the topics and learning objectives of the individual sessions Who is the course instructor? I’m a native English speaker with over 25 years of teaching experience. I was trained at the renowned Knight Institute at Cornell University (New York), where I went on to earn a PhD in Art and Cultural History. My teaching philosophy is simple: language learning is most effective when the material is genuinely engaging—something you'd want to read even in your native language. That’s why I design my courses around a wide range of thought-provoking topics, from art and politics to science and technology. Classes are held online in a relaxed, supportive environment. We focus on building vocabulary, improving speaking skills, and strengthening grammar—all while exploring relevant and interesting content. I look forward to helping you boost
