Beschreibung

Develop your English through engaging topics, authentic materials and practical communication. Consolidate your B1 skills and progressively build the vocabulary, grammar and communicative competence needed to move towards B2. Lesson contents In this course, you will consolidate and extend your English through articles, literary and non-fiction texts, videos, artworks and other engaging materials. Each session is structured around a specific topic and language-learning focus, such as vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation or communication. New vocabulary, expressions and grammatical structures are introduced and explained in context and then practised through targeted exercises. Previously acquired knowledge is regularly reviewed and consolidated. The course progressively introduces more complex language and communication tasks, allowing participants to move from familiar B1 situations towards more extended and independent B2-level communication. Who is this course for? The course is aimed at learners with B1-level English who want to consolidate their existing knowledge and gradually progress towards B2. It is suitable for participants who have completed the relevant B1 learning content or have comparable knowledge. Lesson aims •Understand the main points and relevant details of spoken and written texts on familiar and selected new topics; •Acquire and actively use new vocabulary and common idiomatic expressions; consolidate important B1 grammatical structures and use them with increasing accuracy; •Express opinions, experiences and ideas with increasing clarity and detail; participate more confidently in conversations and discussions; a•sAk and answer questions and respond appropriately in different communicative situations; •Apply newly learned vocabulary and grammatical structures in spoken and written communication; •Progressively develop the linguistic range and independence required for B2-level communication. Methods The course follows a communicative and task-based approach. New vocabulary and grammatical structures are introduced in context, explained and practised through targeted exercises before being transferred to communicative tasks. Methods include guided conversations, pair and group activities, speaking exercises, vocabulary and grammar tasks, work with authentic texts and audiovisual materials, games and other interactive activities. Participants regularly apply newly acquired language through speaking and writing tasks. Feedback and correction help participants identify and correct errors, consolidate new knowledge and develop greater fluency, accuracy and confidence. Who is the course instructor? I’m a native English speaker with over 25 years of teaching experience. I was trained at the renowned Knight Institute at Cornell University (New York), where I went on to earn a PhD in Art and Cultural History. My teaching philosophy is simple: language learning is most effective when the material is genuinely engaging—something you'd want to read even in your native language. That’s why I design my courses around a wide range of thought-provoking topics, from art and politics to science and technology. Classes are held online in a relaxed, supportive environment. We focus on building vocabulary, improving speaking skills, and strengthening grammar—all while exploring relevant and interesting content. I look forward to helping you boost your English skills and discover new perspectives along the way!
